Swing over to AFC East chat at 3 p.m.

Start off your holiday weekend right by dropping by my AFC East chat at 3 p.m. Friday.

There has been a grand total of zero developments since the last time we chatted, but I'm sure we'll find something to argue about.

Harbaugh's advice sticks with Ravens' Dickson

Among the ways that Ravens TE Ed Dickson is preparing for his second NFL season: pushing a blocking sled 10 yards 20 times. Such is life when you're slated to play Steelers OLB James Harrison twice a season; blocking becomes a primary concern, even when the games are months away and the NFL isn't conducting any official business. But make no mistake: many players continue to work on their craft, and Dickson, who caught 11-152-1 while showing promise as a rookie reserve, is no different. Something head coach John Harbaugh said early in Dickson's career resonates today. "You're a world-class athlete, you have to treat yourself (as) one," Dickson recalled him saying, with the clear message that a player was responsible for taking care of his business. So Dickson has worked out throughout this offseason, catching passes from QB Joe Flacco in Arizona earlier in the spring and also training at the University of Oregon. "I'm trying to go up to that next level," Dickson said.

NFL, Cowboys want Super Bowl lawsuit thrown out

Both the NFL and the Cowboys have asked for the class-action lawsuit filed against them by Super Bowl ticket holders who were denied seats to be dismissed.

The NFL filed a motion on Thursday stating that its offers of compensations were beyond contractual obligations and that no one was defrauded because employees worked through the day of the game to deal with the issue.

There were a total of 1,250 temporary seats not completed in time for Super Bowl XLV, which took place on Feb. 6 at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas.

Of those displaced fans, 400 ticket holders were told they had to watch the game on TV. Also, some Cowboys season-ticket holders were forced to watch the game in folding chairs with obstructed views.
