Brandon Spikes Suspended 4 Games for Using Banned Substance

New England Patriots rookie linebacker Brandon Spikes has been suspended for the final four games of the 2010 regular season by the NFL.

Spikes tested positive for a banned substance, according to Ian Rapoport of The Boston Herald. The former Florida Gator decided not to appeal the suspension so that he could serve it immediately and be back in time for the playoffs. He will be eligible to return the day after Week 17 ends, meaning he could play in the Patriots' opening postseason game.
