Texans Sign Safety Quintin Demps, Place DE Jesse Nading on Injured Reserve

The Houston Texans on Tuesday addressed their safety position, signing third-year veteran Quintin Demps.

The Texans, who had three safeties on the roster before signing Demps -- Bernard Pollard, Eugene Wilson and Troy Nolan -- also placed defensive end Jesse Nading on injured reserve and re-signed defensive tackle Malcom Sheppard to the practice squad.

Demps, a fourth-round selection by Philadelphia in the 2008 NFL Draft, played collegiately at UTEP.

The following players did not practice for Houston Monday or Tuesday: DE Mario Williams, OT Eric Winston, OG Mike Brisiel and WR Andre Johnson.

Johnson reaggravated a season-long high-ankle sprain last Thursday against Philadelphia.
