Saturday's games a ratings boon for NBC

The wild start to wild-card weekend was a ratings success.

The Seahawks' upset of the Saints on NBC earned the highest preliminary rating for the early Saturday wild-card game since 1990, finishing with an 18.3 overnight rating. It was up eight percent from last year's Jets-Bengals matchup.

The Jets' 17-16 win over the Colts earned the highest rating since prime-time wild-card games began being aired in 2002.

The combination of the games on NBC had an average overnight rating of 19.4, the best on a Saturday since 1994.
