TCU picks up big-time commitment

As we enter the final weeks of recruiting, TCU has picked up a big-time player -- Euless Trinity receiver Brandon Carter has switched his verbal commitment from Oklahoma to the Horned Frogs.

Carter told ESPNDallas.com Tuesday night that he changed his mind because TCU plans to use him as a slot receiver, and the campus is a short drive from his hometown.

The four-star recruit also told Travis L. Brown he felt like a good fit with the players.

"It's the same atmosphere as Trinity, so that's what I really liked," he said.

TCU now has commitments from three of the Dallas area's top 10 recruits, with wide receiver LaDarius Brown and linebacker Deryck Gildon also expected to sign. All three are rated four-star recruits. TCU has 23 commitments as of today.

National signing day is Feb. 2.
