We asked FanHouse NFL writers Andy Kent, Ray Glier, John Oesher, Barry Barnes, John Hickey and Dennis Georgatos for their take on America's greatest sports nightmare.
What are the chances of a lockout, and how long would it take for the owners and players work it out?
Oehser: If a lockout indeed occurs, it won't likely last long. There's too much at stake for both sides, and despite fighting words from each side, cooler heads almost certainly will prevail. The guess here is a deal gets done well before games are lost, but if games are lost, it won't be many. Neither side can be that stubborn or silly.... can they?
Glier: The owners have strike insurance. The field is tilted now in their favor and this could be a long wait for a deal. I was at the owners meeting in Atlanta and they all know they got into a bad deal five years ago that has turned upside down on them.
