They said it: Week of Oct. 9

Sunday Oct. 9, 2011

Eagles RB LeSean McCoy trying to explain the offense's struggles with turnovers, as quoted on csnphilly.com: “Same stuff, every week. Can’t find something new to tell you. We beat ourselves. Can’t make excuses. Turnovers, turnovers, turnovers. We’ve never been a big turnover team. I don’t know what it is. Not used to having this type of season. Losing ain’t the Philadelphia Eagles, that’s not what we do. But obviously right now that’s what’s happening.”

Giants WR Victor Cruz, speaking on nytimes.com, about how his mother views his play after the Giants' 36-25 loss to the Seahawks. "My mother told me, ‘Nothing can ever be just simple with you.' You always want to win the game, but whenever you do something to negate that, it always wipes away the good and you see the bad.”

Cardinals head coach Ken Whisenhunt on the disappointment surrounding the team after their 34-10 loss to the Vikings, quoted from azcentral.com: "We don't catch the first play of the game, and that's the story of our team, not only (Sunday), but this season. Opportunities are there for plays and we don't make them. We got a wide-open touchdown at the end of the first half; we can't connect on it. We can't make tackles on defense. You can sit here and say all day, 'There's things that are open and opportunities to make plays,' but at some point you're not getting it done. And that's very frustrating."

Jets WR Plaxico Burress on the play of QB Mark Sanchez in New York's 30-21 loss to the Patriots, quoted in csnne.com: "He's good, working hard to get better. We're trying to put him in situations to have some success, to go out and play well. He did that. We just all have to come together and work hard to help him get better. Because as he goes, we go."
