Vikings RB Adrian Peterson returned to practice on Thursday and took part in individual drills. He has missed the last two games with a sprained left ankle.
Head coach Leslie Frazier said this week that Peterson was getting "very close" to coming back. The 2-10 Vikings play the Lions on Sunday.
Peterson has 872 rushing yards and 11 touchdowns this season. Toby Gerhart has started in his place.
