Notes from Patriots minicamp

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- The New England Patriots began Day 2 of mandatory minicamp. The AFC East blog was there to take in all the action. Here are some notes and observations: It was a good day for the offense, which was what I expected. Quarterback Tom Brady and the first team looked sharp and made a lot of players, although Brady wouldn't admit it. Receiver Wes Welker made several nice plays in team drills, including two deep touchdown passes from Brady.
