CHARLESTON, Ill. -- Eastern Illinois University says sophomore Shaun Pratl has decided to leave the team.
Panther head coach Mike Miller said Wednesday in a news release that the school wished Pratl well but did not say if he plans to transfer to another school.
Pratl played in 28 games and started 21. He averaged 9 points a game. He is a 6-8, 230-pound forward who helped lead Richards in Oak Lawn to a state high school basketball championship in 2008. In May of 2009, Pratl was found not guilty of misdemeanor battery charges made by a Mother McAuley High School student for an incident at a party in November of 2008.
The Panthers (9-20) finished in ninth place in the 10-team Ohio Valley Conference.
