NHL players union may put together new offer
The NHL and the NHL Players Association have not traded contract proposals in more than three weeks, but NHL deputy commissioner Bill Daly said the league believes the players union is now in the process of putting together a new proposal, ESPNNewYork.com reported Wednesday.

Chan Gailey of the Buffalo Bills sounds more like a psychologist lately than an NFL head coach. Last week around this time, Gailey questioned his team's toughness. On Monday, he told Buffalo radio station WGR that he is worried about the Bills' psyche after back-to-back blowouts to the New England Patriots (52-28) and San Francisco 49ers (45-3). Former Penn State assistant coach Jerry Sandusky will be sentenced Tuesday on 45 counts of child sex abuse and is expected to address the court and maintain his innocence, according to his lawyer.
