In a surprising move, the Patriots released WR Taylor Price on Saturday. OL Nick McDonald was signed from the practice squad to replace Price on the active roster.
Price, a 2010 third-round pick, never materialized as the downfield threat the Patriots were hoping he'd be. In two seasons, he had just three receptions, none in 2011.
