Michigan's Brady Hoke has been named the 2011 Collegiate Coach of the Year by the Maxwell Football Club, the club announced Monday. Hoke won Big Ten coach of the year honors in his first season in Ann Arbor. He guided Michigan to an 11-2 record and a Sugar Bowl championship. Hoke is the third Michigan coach to win the Maxwell Club's honor, joining Lloyd Carr in 1996 and Bo Schembechler in 1989. He was a finalist for three national coaching awards -- Bear Bryant, Eddie Robinson and Liberty Mutual -- but didn't win any of them.
