An offensive lineman is off the board.
So far in our mock endeavor, I've been impressed with how deliberate the loyal voters have been. You haven't thrown around votes willy-nilly.
Smith hadn't received any serious consideration for the previous nine slots, but he more than doubled the next-closest candidate, Clemson defensive end Da'Quan Bowers. That shows AFC East blog readers know what their mission is -- to assemble a mock draft that outperforms ESPN analysts Mel Kiper and Todd McShay.
Wisconsin defensive end J.J. Watt finished third. Alabama running back Mark Ingram, California defensive end Cameron Jordan and North Carolina defensive end Robert Quinn received a couple votes apiece.
Here's how far we've gotten:
- Carolina Panthers: Auburn quarterback Cam Newton
- Denver Broncos: Alabama defensive tackle Marcell Dareus
- Buffalo Bills: Texas A&M outside linebacker Von Miller
- Cincinnati Bengals: Missouri quarterback Blaine Gabbert
- Arizona Cardinals: Louisiana State cornerback Patrick Peterson
- Cleveland Browns: Georgia receiver A.J. Green
- San Francisco 49ers: Nebraska cornerback Prince Amukamara
- Tennessee Titans: Auburn defensive tackle Nick Fairley
- Dallas Cowboys: USC tackle Tyron Smith
The Washington Redskins are on the clock with the 10th pick.
As always, place your vote underneath this article in the comments section or beneath the link on my Facebook page. We'll return on Monday morning with the result and resume the process.
