The New York Daily News has reported that U.S. District Judge Susan Nelson will make a ruling on Monday on the NFL players' request for an injunction to halt the lockout.
Nelson is hearing the players' antitrust lawsuit against the owners. The case began with a preliminary injunction hearing over two weeks ago. Nelson urged the two sides to resume federal mediation while she considered her decision. Mediation adjourned on Wednesday until May 16.
Even if she grants the request, the lockout will likely not be over. The NFL will almost certainly appeal the ruling, taking the case to the Eighth Circuit court, where different judges would hear the two sides' cases.
