Eagles will use more of Hanson

Joselio Hanson was a popular name that many league observers expected to hit the waiver wire. The Eagles had signed Nnamdi Asomugha, traded for Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie and already had lots invested in Asante Samuel at cornerback, so it was widely assumed that Hanson would be cut in a cost-cutting move. But the Eagles held onto him despite the fact that they had selected Trevard Lindley (fourth round, 2010) and Curtis Marsh (third round, 2011) relatively high the previous two drafts. But Hanson mostly stuck in the shadows through the first part of the season as Rodgers-Cromartie struggled as the team's nickel corner. Recently, though, Hanson has had a chance to show he can still perform with Rodgers-Cromartie out indefinitely with injury, and Hanson looked better in his place. Expect him to continue performing in the slot and perhaps to make his early claim on a roster spot for next season. The Eagles could part ways with Rodgers-Cromartie after only one season, sources have indicated.
