Bears players of the week: Week 11

PFW associate editor Dan Parr selects an offensive, defensive and special-teams player of the week for the Bears following their Week 11 win over the Chargers.

Offense: QB Jay Cutler

Cutler accounted for three of the Bears' four touchdowns Sunday, throwing TD passes of four and 24 yards and running for a one-yard TD to break a 17-17 tie in third quarter. He completed 18-of-31 passes for 286 yards and also had an 11-yard run for a first down. Cutler did throw one interception, and he broke the thumb on his throwing hand while attempting to tackle CB Antoine Cason as he returned the pick in the fourth quarter. Cutler played through the injury the rest of the game but will miss the rest of the regular season.

Defense: CB Charles Tillman

Tillman was no match for Vincent Jackson, who racked up seven catches for 165 yards and a touchdown with Tillman often covering him one-on-one, but he made one of the biggest plays of the game in the third quarter. After Cutler ran for a touchdown to give the Bears a 24-17 lead, the Chargers took over on offense and RB Ryan Mathews gained six yards on the first play of San Diego's drive before Tillman poked the ball loose and recovered Mathews' fumble at the Chargers' 37-yard line. Cutler threw a touchdown two plays later, giving the Bears a comfortable 31-17 lead.

Special teams: WR-RS Devin Hester

Hester made two long punt returns in the second quarter, although a holding penalty on RB Kahlil Bell shortened what was a 47-yard return to a 22-yarder. Still, he gave the offense great field on two occasions and finished with two punt returns for 59 yards (29.5 average). He wasn't able to break loose on kickoff returns, being held to three returns for 48 yards (16.0 average).
