Owen Daniels is hoping to play Sunday.Whether the Houston Texans tight end can do so or not likely won't be known until shortly before kickoff.
Daniels, a 2008 Pro Bowl selection, missed practice for a third consecutive day Friday, and was listed as questionable on the team's injury report for Sunday's game against the San Diego Chargers at Reliant Stadium in Houston, Texans.
Linebacker Xavier Abidi (hamstring) also practiced for Houston Friday, but Texans coach Gary Kubiak said wide receiver Andre Johnson worked as expected the last two days.
"He should be fine, ready to go," Kubiak said of Johnson via the Texans' Twitter feed, and Kubiak also said Friday Daniels could play without practicing.
Joel Dressen likely would start in Daniels' place, with James Casey also playing a role.
"I'm excited for him," Kubiak said of Casey. "He's been working very hard. He does everything you ask a guy to do."
