Readers would like to see Lions on 'Hard Knocks'

PFW's readers would love to see the Lions on this year's edition of HBO's documentary series "Hard Knocks," which gives viewers an inside look at an NFL team during training camp.

Unfortunately, the Lions' braintrust reportedly declined an invitation to appear on the program. Detroit was the third team to pass on being the featured team in 2011, joining the Buccaneers and the Broncos. The Jets, who were featured last summer, also reportedly have said they are not interested in a repeat performance.

The PFW poll question asked "Which team would you most like to see on "Hard Knocks"?" Nearly 26 percent of the respondents to the poll said they would like to see the Lions. The next most popular team was the Patriots (14.1 percent). They were followed by the Eagles (9.3 percent), Cowboys (8.9 percent), 49ers (7.8 percent), Seahawks (5.4 percent) and Jets (3.6 percent). Twenty-five percent of the respondents said they wanted to see a team "other" than the ones offered.

One team that has said it might be open to appearing on the show this year is the Falcons, which would be a mild surprise considering the fact that head coach Mike Smith was not a fan of being a part of a similar type of show that was produced by the NFL Network and profiled the Jaguars in 2004 when Smith was Jacksonville's defensive coordinator.
