Broncos LB Williams suffers elbow injury

Broncos OLB D. J. Williams will miss three-to-four weeks with a right elbow injury suffered in the team's third preseason game.

Williams suffered the injury while tackling Seahawks RB Thomas Clayton in the first quarter of Saturday night's game in Denver. Doctors confirmed the injury was a dislocated right elbow.

Following the game, the linebacker told the Denver Post, "I'll be all right."

Williams has eclipsed 100 tackles in three of the last four seasons and was expected to be an important player in the team's new 4-3 defense.

The way we see it

The Broncos are already thin at linebacker and will really miss Williams' experience and leadership. Based on the timetable, the linebacker will be out for the team's Week One matchup vs. the Raiders and may miss the Week Two game against the Bengals.
