Turning attention back to Keller would help Jets' offense

The Jets' passing game was miserable for the second game in a row in their Thursday-night loss to the Broncos. QB Mark Sanchez's accuracy continues to falter, and it has been evident with his favorite target.

TE Dustin Keller was the team's top receiver in the first three games, catching 16-249-2. In the team's last seven games, though, Keller is averaging fewer than three catches a game and he hasn't scored since Week Two. His five catches against the Broncos were the most he has had since Week Three.

We hear that Sanchez is most comfortable with Keller, as it is their third season together, and Keller still leads the team with 65 targets, catching 55.4 percent of those balls, but that percentage should be higher for a pass-catching tight end. He is gaining nearly 30 fewer receiving yards per game in the Jets' five losses than in their five wins.

The Jets are not out of the playoff hunt but need more consistency out of the passing game. Sanchez could help himself by taking a page from the Patriots and rely more on his tight end.
