Give Xavi the Ballon d'Or

I completely agree with Xabi Alonso. Xavi deserves the Ballon d'Or. He's the consummate footballer with excellent control and technique, tremendous vision, pinpoint accuracy, and unselfish attitude. He's a gentleman and a gentle man, making the perfect picture of how a professional footballer should act.

Now it looks like Xavi's playing days are numbered, years of heavy playing taking a toll on his achilles tendon. It truly sucks as a cul to see the man on the bench so often this season. The last time it was this way was in 2005-2006 when Xavi hurt his ACL. Bara without Xavi is a picture I don't want to see and didn't expect to see for a couple years. Much too soon. Hopefully, his woes will somehow be curtailed for a time and we might see Prof.X return to the pitch where he undoubtedly belongs.

Here's a man who's deserved such laurels before, but lost out to the more traditional goal-scoring player candidate. Xavi's time is running out now, so it behooves FIFA to finally redress this oversight and award the humble, brilliant footballer from Terrassa. Give the Ballon d'Or to the one person most deserving of it: Xavi.
