The NFL wants to delay the deadline for its response to the player's antitrust lawsuit until July 6, according to Daniel Kaplan of SportsBusiness Journal.
Kaplan reports that the league would like file its response until after the Eighth U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals weighs in on whether or not the lockout can remain in place, as it will influence their strategy for defending the case.
The players have opposed this request and want the NFL to file its reply prior to the appellate court's ruling, as scheduled.
