Bills NT Kyle Williams, who has not played since Week Five because of a foot injury, is expected to miss the rest of the season, according to the Buffalo News.
Head coach Chan Gailey said on Monday that Williams would meet with a specialist in North Carolina. Per the report, Williams' injury is bone spurs irritating his Achilles tendon, and the Bills received news that the injury will keep Williams out for the remainder of the 2011 season.
Williams, a Pro Bowler last season, signed a contract extension this season. Rookie Marcell Dareus has played in his spot on the D-line.
Gailey added that the team will be looking at placekickers after Rian Lindell suffered a shoulder injury in Sunday's loss to the Jets. The Buffalo News reported that Lindell is expected to miss 4-6 weeks.
The Bills announced they promoted TE Mike Caussin to the 53-man roster from their practice squad and released CB Terrence Wheatley. Caussin entered the NFL in 2010 as an undrafted free agent and has been on the Bills' practice squad all season. He spent 12 weeks on the Jaguars' practice squad last season.
The move likely indicates that rookie CB Aaron Williams is ready to return from injury, as Wheatley had been the team's extra corner with Williams out.
