Packers might lose DB coach to Eagles after Super Bowl

There is heavy speculation that the Cardinals are waiting for the Super Bowl to conclude to offer their defensive coordinator job to Steelers LB coach Keith Butler or secondary coach Ray Horton. It turns out the Packers might lose a coach after the big game as well.

CSN Philadelphia reports that Packers defensive backs coach Darren Perry is a candidate for the vacant defensive coordinator job with the Eagles, and that a deal between the team and coach already might have been reached.

According to writer Reuben Frank, "The Eagles have shown zero sense of urgency to get anything done" regarding the hiring of a new defensive coordinator. That has Frank believing they've already targeted their coach, and the most likely candidate for that is Perry, who comes from one of the top defensive staffs in the league.

Perry, who is in his ninth season as an NFL coach after playing in the league for nine seasons, contributed to the Packers' two victories over the Eagles this season, giving Eagles head coach Andy Reid an up-close-look at what Perry can do.
