Peppers fined $10,000 for helmet hit

A punishing hit on Packers QB Aaron Rodgers in the NFC championship game cost the Bears and DE Julius Peppers 15 yards for roughing the passer. Now it's costing Peppers some serious cash as well.

The Pro Bowler was fined $10,000 for his helmet-to-helmet hit on Thursday; the news was first reported by ESPN's Adam Schefter.

The way we see it

Chicago players and fans were upset with the call, and looking at the replay, there was really nothing Peppers could do to avoid hitting Rodgers head-first on the play. But a rule is a rule, and Peppers clearly hit the QB with his helmet, resulting in a penalty and fine.
