Del Pilar's Digest: Fantasyland TE report

Week Eight brings the following teams on byes: Falcons, Bears, Packers, Jets, Raiders, Buccaneers. That means you lose RBs Michael Turner and Matt Forte, WRs Greg Jennings, Plaxico Burress and Darrius Heyward-Bey and TE Jermichael Finley.

Broncos TE Daniel Fells (2-31-1 on four targets) could be a player to own as Tim Tebow is using a short passing game to move the ball. Right now, Fells is a watch-list player without much upside but do watch him.

Browns TE Evan Moore (4-35-0 on five targets) is the No. 2 TE but Benjamin Watson suffered a concussion, giving Moore extra looks. He has no fantasy value right now.

Bucs TE Kellen Winslow (4-25-1 with 12 targets) scored his first TD of season. However, with a season average of 8.3 targets for 4.4 receptions, 40.3 yards and 0.1 TD per game, his days of fantasy relevance are over.

Falcons TE Tony Gonzalez (5-62-0 with eight targets) entered the history books Sunday when he moved past Cris Carter and Marvin Harrison to rank No. 2 on the all-time receptions list behind Jerry Rice with 1,104 receptions for his career. Rice (1,549) is 445 catches ahead of him. Gonzo is posting solid numbers, averaging 7.4 targets for five receptions, 54.3 yards and 0.6 TDs.

Redskins TE Fred Davis (6-80-1 with eight targets) continues to roll, and out of six games has had only two bad outings. He has a season average of 6.8 targets for 4.7 receptions, 70.5 yards and 0.3 TDs. He's a No. 1 fantasy tight end.

Steelers TE Heath Miller (4-59-1 with four targets) has a three-game average of 4.7 targets for 3.7 receptions, 44 yards and 0.7 TDs per game. He's still a matchup play but it's obvious when the Steelers' passing game is clicking that he's a legitimate threat to post quality fantasy numbers.

Texans TE Joel Dreessen (2-31-1) has two touchdowns in three games. However, his season average of 2.6 targets for 1.4 receptions, 26.7 yards and 0.3 TDs shows us he's not someone to pickup. Let him stay on the waiver wire.

Titans TE Jared Cook (2-22-1) now has two TDs in the past three games. He has a three-game average of 5.7 targets for 2.7 receptions, 58 yards and 0.7 TDs per game. Those are solid flex, bye-week or injury fill-in numbers.

Vikings TE Visanthe Shiancoe (4-45-1 with eight targets) had a great game and was a focal point for rookie QB Christian Ponder. Watch-list Shiancoe and see how well he and the rookie develop chemistry. You might want to grab-and-stash him in deeper leagues but remember all of this is based on one game.
