Panthers place ORT Otah on injured reserve

Panthers ORT Jeff Otah has been placed on season-ending injured reserved because of a left knee injury, the team announced Wednesday.

OL Reggie Wells will take Otah's spot on the 53-man roster.

Otah tried to fight through the injury this season, which he suffered in training camp, but he missed two games so far, including last Sunday's loss in Atlanta. Byron Bell, who started for Otah in the games he missed, will step into the starting lineup.

The way we see it

Otah missed all of last season and will now miss the majority of the 2011 season with injury. He's a talented player, but he has yet to play a full season so far in his NFL career.

Bell has been adequate as a replacement and will need to continue that level of play going forward.
