The Steelers have re-signed OT Max Starks to a one-year contract, the team announced Wednesday. To make room on the roster, they released OT Chris Scott.
Starks played all seven of his seasons with the Steelers since they drafted him in the third round of the 2004 NFL draft. He started seven games in 2010 before suffering a neck injury.
Chris Scott has appeared in two games this season.
The way we see it
Starks gives the Steelers another experienced option at tackle. The depth at the position has been tested all season. ORT Willie Colon suffered a season-ending injury in Week One and has been replaced by rookie Marcus Gilbert. OLT Jonathan Scott — who took over for the injured Starks in 2010 and is now the starter — missed Week Four with an ankle injury, with Trai Essex getting the start.
