Andy Reid had a relatively easy decision to make. Facing a meaningless Week 17 game against the Cowboys, Reid reportedly will start Kevin Kolb over a banged-up Michael Vick. The Eagles had been battling with the Bears for a first-round bye in the NFC playoffs, but their shocking loss to Minnesota on Tuesday night eliminated any chance Philadelphia had at the No. 2 seed. The Eagles are now assured of the No. 3 spot.
Reid's decision will give Vick time to rest a bruised leg. It was also made all the easier by the fact that he has a backup who could start for numerous teams. Kolb has played in six games this year and thrown for more than 1,000 yards. And while Vick's emergence likely ends his chances of being the Eagles' long-term starter, every start is a chance to showcase himself for a potential trade.
