Ravens Pro Bowl Selections Include Ray Lewis, Ed Reed Yet Again

Ravens linebacker Ray Lewis heads the 2010 Pro Bowl for Baltimore, along with four others. Defensive end Haloti Ngata, linebacker Terrell Suggs, kicker Billy Cundiff and safety Ed Reed were selected to be a part of the AFC Pro Bowl team.

The decorated All-Star event is pretty much the Ray Lewis Invitational for Baltimore as this is his 12th trip to the Pro Bowl in his 15-year career and for the third straight year, the Ravens sent at least five players to play among the NFL's best.

Despite being placed on the physically unable to perform list, causing him to miss the first six games of the regular season, Reed gets the nod as well. Reed has been to the Pro Bowl seven times in nine seasons, while this is Suggs' fourth trip and Ngata's second in consecutive years.

Cundiff is having a great season and this NFL journeyman has joined nine different rosters during his career. Kickers are very valuable and Cundiff, 30, proved his value to the Ravens after beating out veteran kicker Shayne Graham during training camp. He has kicked 38 touchbacks this season, which is a league high. He has made 24 of 27 field goals and scored 110 points.

Among the Ravens' five selections, Suggs is the only non-starter for the AFC team.

Punter Sam Koch, fullback Le'Ron McClain and left guard Ben Grubbs were named first alternates for the AFC. They would attend the event in Hawaii if a player taken ahead of them is unable to play.
